    Hello Shooters,

I am just rolling around ideas for a new short and I want a heaven scene. Has anyone tried or knows how to produce a completely white scene like the one in the Matrix?

I am thinking along the lines of a few rolls of white material about 30m long and building a stand for them to hang on. Also any tips for lighting would be a help.

    Cheers

To get the infinity style white screen is quite easy. Set your actor in front of a white sheet and make sure it's pulled tight so no creases can be seen. Now put 2 or 3 blondes shining against the sheet and light your actor with 3 redheads as you would normally and you get this lovely infinite white.

Find yourself a large space, paint it white with emulsion, make sure it is evenly and well lit, open the iris on your camera to overexpose, the white will look a brilliant even, white. Just the the studio on Flava.

The white material will probably be your best bet.

I learned a trick for lighting by accident. We were stuck for lights on a project a while back, so we ended up bouncing a bank of flourescent lights onto the actors. Tweak the shutter a notch and you've over-exposed the shot. That sould create the surreal environment you're going for.
